John McCain Celeb Attack Ad

Listened to yesterday's John McCain 2008 campaign conference call where they unveiled his new "Celeb" TV spot. McCain's campaign manager attacked Barack Obama's popularity, as if there's something wrong with the fact that people might actually like their next president!

P.S. Does this mean that Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have endorsed John McCain? (Spears has said, "Honestly, I think we should just trust our president [Bush] in every decision he makes and should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens.") Perhaps one of them can teach McCain how to use a computer, or how to send text messages...

All of the fave female celebs are getting married and having kids. At least this one held out longer than Jessica Alba.

Zune Guy Gives Up On Zune

The Zune Guy (doing him a favor by not printing his real name) who tried to change his legal name to "Microsoft Zune" has finally abandoned Redmond's beleaguered portable music player. The best part is that the Zune Guy publicly announced he bought an iPod after choosing among PMP's from Apple, Insignia, Samsung, and Sony.

Logitech USB Headset for PlayStation 2

Morbo @neonzebra suggested the use of iChat AV for the weekly work-related meeting. Used the MOTOPURE H12, but decided to research USB headsets because the H12 doesn't know whether it should pair with the Mac or iPhone 3G when both are in range. Stumbled upon the discontinued Logitech USB Headset for PlayStation 2 among Amazon's search results. Idea! Rummaged through the box of obsolete electronics and dug up the very same headset from the SOCOM II era. Plugged it into the Mac (running Mac OS X 10.5.4) and it worked! Various online forums also indicate that it works with the PS3 as well.

Little Bit of Soul

Jon Bon Jovi actually owns a lot more of the Philadelphia Soul, and now he has an AFL ArenaBowl XXII Championship to show for it. Unfortunately, the San Jose SaberCats weren't quite able to overcome some missteps, bad calls, and the higher caliber energy of a team playing in their first ArenaBowl game.

Another One Bites The Dust

On September 30, 2008, Yahoo! Music Unlimited customers who purchased tracks and albums encumbered with DRM will be screwed. Microsoft pulled a similar stunt with MSN Music back in 2006. Lesson yet to be learned: DRM sucks!

Swurl Timeline

The Swurl Timeline is a neat way to visualize one's tweets, blog posts, and other online musings in chronological order. Some suggestions for Swurl: Always add thumbnails when images are available (e.g. in blog posts). Expand the box for each event as the browser window size permits. Expand the box for an event when it's selected or hovered upon. Possibly use different colors and/or icons to indicate different information sources. Thanks!

Please approve a barcode reader (e.g. ScanLife, iMatrix, random college project, etc.) for the U.S. iPhone App Store ASAP so us Americans can scan EZcode, QR Code, Data Matrix, and other popular 2D barcodes.

Peet's Tea Freddos

The Starbucks Vivanno was not bad so tried a Peet's Tea Freddo. The Berry Pomegranate flavor is pretty gross. It's like drinking fruit flavored syrup. On the plus side, Peet's provides free Wi-Fi in two hour intervals. Too bad it's slower than Starbucks (albeit free), and a new code is required after the time expires.
