Neil Gaiman's creepy kiddy story, Coraline,
comes to life in 3D on the big screen. 3D has come a long way since the last time this blogger watched a movie with cardboard red and blue glasses. 21st century specs sport plastic frames with clear lenses. Film has been replaced by digital projection, of course. The transition is not cheap for theaters at $70K per screen. The result is well worth the enhanced cinema experience in the case of Coraline, which could give Pixar some worthy competition for animation awards this year.
