Do not buy the $99 iPhone 3G. If you can afford to pay AT&T $70 a month for iPhone service, you can afford to drop an extra C-Note for the iPhone 3G S, which truly blows away the performance of its predecessor. Apple is actually being modest when they state that the 3G S is "up to twice as fast." They should have just said it has ludicrous speed, and somehow manages better battery life too! The new battery indicator shows a 60% charge after a full day's use of 3G and Wi-Fi web surfing, emailing, texting, auto-focused photo taking, Video Recording, YouTubing, directional Google Mapping, music playing, voice-controlled phone calling, and light gaming. iPhone 3G sans 'S' users will find it to be well worth the upgrade price even if they don't qualify for AT&T's best subsidy.
