
California has
632 new laws (the fewest in 40 years) that will be in effect this year. Of note are new laws aimed at cracking down on predatory mortgage lenders. Not much new in the realm of traffic law. Passengers sitting in the front of a vehicle can now watch television so long as the screen is angled so the driver can't see it. The old law used to prohibit any front-seat passenger from watching TV. Checkout
