California's Parable of the Good Samaritan

Wonder if Apple would allow some sort of legal waiver iPhone app that a would-be good Samaritan could offer to a person in distress before they administer aid... Don't know the exact details of the case in which the California Supreme Court recently ruled that Samaritans can be sued for non-medical care. (ABC News sides with the Samaritan.) A morale of this story is that more stem cell research is needed so quadriplegics can be healed in order to avoid the aforementioned scenario altogether.

Religious Proselytization

Yesterday was the second Saturday in a row when proselytizers knocked on the door in the morning. The Baptists from the first Saturday were taking a survey of how to better serve the community. (Answer: Don't wake people up on a Saturday morning.) The Jehovah's Witnesses from yesterday claimed to know when "the war" would end. Was too disoriented to ask them which war they had in mind. The pamphlet they left behind says that people won't learn about war in God's Kingdom. Instead, they'll convert their swords into plowshares. It doesn't explain what will happen to the more lethal weapons. A better teaser would be: Will Superman collect the world's WMD's and hurl them into the sun? Read Isaiah 2:4 to find out!
